Smoking is healthy
The good thing with statistics is that you can prove anything.

I was suprised to see a clear connection between CO2 emissions and life expectancy on a website (slideshow, page 32, here), so I went to the source and tried some other combinations.

The good news is: Smoking is healthy for your kids - the more people smoke, the lower the infant mortality rate.

For me, the correlation is clear. Something that the Health Departments worldwide should consider seriously instead of introducing bans after bans for smokers!

As Mark Twain said: "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics"...

By the way, playing with Gap Minder, an extremely well done statistic explorer with timeline animations and up to four parameters simultaneously, is highly instructive - and allow making fun statements on spurious correlations like I did.
